On Friday 7 May 2021 the White Rose Project hosted a colloquium at the University of Oxford on the White Rose and the Uses of Culture. The aim was to explore the resistance pamphlets of the White Rose in detail, from different scholarly perspectives, and to use this as a way to consider the role of culture in times of crisis more generally. Six speakers presented papers on the quotations used in the pamphlets, which range from German literature to ancient Chinese philosophy. 55 attendees registered, of whom 39 were affiliated with a higher education institution. Papers will be published in a special issue of Oxford German Studies in 2023.
