The White Rose Project is delighted to be partnering once again with the Oxford German Network for Round 2 of the Oxford German Olympiad!
The White Rose (‘Die Weiße Rose’) was a group of students and a professor in Munich that wrote and distributed leaflets calling on Germans to resist Hitler.
TASK: Write a letter in German telling the story of White Rose resistance circle and/or its legacy (max. 300 words). The letter can be addressed to anyone you choose.
Prize: £100 and a copy of Defying Hitler: The White Rose Pamphlets by Alexandra Lloyd (Bodleian Library Publishing, 2022). The winning entry will also be featured on our website.
Deadline: 12 noon, Thursday 7 March 2024
Competition open to: Pupils in years 12 and 13 or equivalent (age 16-18).
