The White Rose Project is proud to present this recital of texts, songs, and images to celebrate the White Rose resistance circle who, 80 years ago, stood up to Nazism and paid with their lives.
The recital will include texts written by undergraduate students at the University of Oxford in response to the writings of the White Rose resistance members. Dr Alexandra Lloyd (Fellow by Special Election in German at St Edmund Hall and author of Defying Hitler: The White Rose Pamphlets (Bodleian Library Publishing, 2022)) will give a short introduction, and Lucy Cox (soprano) and Tom Jesty (piano) will perform works by G.F. Handel, Franz Schubert, Fanny Hensel, Richard Strauss, and Maude Valérie White.
