{"id":3547,"date":"2023-01-26T08:50:47","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T08:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whiteroseproject.seh.ox.ac.uk\/?p=3547"},"modified":"2024-02-02T10:05:55","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T10:05:55","slug":"oxford-german-olympiad-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whiteroseproject.seh.ox.ac.uk\/index.php\/2023\/01\/26\/oxford-german-olympiad-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford German Olympiad 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The White Rose Project is delighted to be partnering once again with the Oxford German Network for Round 2 of the Oxford German Olympiad! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The White Rose (\u2018Die Wei\u00dfe Rose\u2019) was a group of students and a professor in Munich that wrote and distributed leaflets calling on Germans to resist Hitler. 2023 marks the 80th anniversary of the group&#8217;s arrest, trial, and execution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TASK: <\/strong>&#8220;The White Rose resistance circle wrote a series of leaflets calling on Germans to resist Nazism. Choose one of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/whiteroseproject.seh.ox.ac.uk\/index.php\/flugblatter-der-weisen-rose-i\/\">White Rose resistance pamphlets<\/a>&nbsp;and adapt it into another written form in German (max. 400 words). It could be, for example, a poem, a dialogue or short play, a short story, a podcast script, or a speech.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prize:&nbsp;<\/strong>\u00a3100 and a copy of <em>Defying Hitler: The White Rose Pamphlets&nbsp;<\/em>(Bodleian Library Publishing, 2022).
